Vegetable oil. Has a lower density than water, so harder to stay afloat in.

A huge vat of warm macaroni and cheese.... I love the way the stuff sounds when it is stirred. Sinking into a deep vat of it would just sound so pornographic!

I did a drawing series like this a long time ago, and I sent the whole batch of drawings to another member of the community to be scanned. Alas, I never saw them again, nor were they ever scanned and shared. But, yes -- the squelching of sloppiness of the mess would be very interesting.
