Salton Sea Recon Mission (QS jackpot!)

Postby jungleQSman » Thu Oct 14, 2010 1:40 am

Hey Folks:

I heard of a couple of possible locations that a list meber tried out.... said they were incredible deep silky smoth mud pits!

wondering if i found the right ones. (found two very nice ones) geothermal mudpots... about a 3-4 foot drop to the Mud, both bogs were approx 12-18 feet in diameter.
Did not get in was alone ...wanted to be safe. ;-)

So send some comments folks.. and to who ever has been here, confirm if I found the correct ones! they are both across from the abandoned mineral springs looking building...

No scent to them ... sometimes the hae a slight petrol scent
they were bubling though.
will add a second post with a vid cap.

I hope my file sizes arent to big!
They are located out east of the salton sea not far from the Sunny Bonna wild life area, Also they are marked on that google map thing.
Corner of DAvis and Scrimpf roads in NIland CA.

Hmm, there is a visible building in one picture...but did it feel very deserted anyway alone?

Wouldna stopped me...cowabunga!

and f i found the correct ones! they are both across from the abandones mineral springs looking building...

Okay, so that's an ABANDONED building...good. Good.

I have no idea what mudpits you think they are but as far as their correctness goes, I find them perfectly acceptable!

(Oooh. Ahhh. Jealousy!)

Been to the ones across the Salton Sea to the west, the mud is sort of cool actually. The bubble come from something like carbon dioxide gas, not because they are hot and boiling. There was a 1900's era mud spa not far from there that I think may be an island now.
