If you're using powdered pottery clay, there are a lot of valid ratios, any of which could be suitable depending on what you're using it for.
More water = thinner clay - good for shooting sexy scenes.
Half and half = good for a lot of things, including shooting dramatic content.
Less water = thick clay - good for solo sex.

The type of clay will make a huge difference. Some clay swells when it gets wet and some doesn't. The only wy to figure wht you need is to experiment.

If you're looking for a ratio of 1 part clay to 2 parts water then roughly it would be 4.25lbs of clay for ever gallon of water.....I think? Never was good at ratios.
