We're kind of used to scenes that conveniently play out. The damsel gets into the quicksand through coercion, force or accident. The bad guy does his villain spiel and leaves the damsel to sink to her doom, allowing for the hero of the moment to arrive and rescue the damsel. Insert gunfight for a bit of variety, but the end result is still the same transition between peril and rescue.
This week's poll will look at a specific scenario. The scene is as follows:
There are three people in a forest clearing. One of them is female, up to her waist in quicksand and unable to get out on her own or do anything other than sink deeper. The villain is male and has the egotistic superiority complex, and obviously wants to see either or both of the women in quicksand, but he is armed only with his wit. The third person is, in this case, also female, and has come to the rescue. Unfortunately, the villain is still there and watching the scene unfold. The three are in an awkward standoff, waiting for the other to make a move.
How should this scene play out?
I'm assuming that the general audience wants both women to end up in the quicksand at some point, so the focus is on the sequence of events. Since it's so broad, I'm allowing an Other option.
