2014 NHL Playoffs Post

Postby kham » Wed Apr 16, 2014 1:27 am

Well, after 7 months of preliminaries and a winter break, here we go ;)

WEST

Minnesota @ Colorado
Chicago @ St Louis
Dallas @ Anaheim
Los Angeles @ San Jose

Minnesota @ Colorado : Top heavy with kids and rookie coach Patrick Roy, the Avs probably surprised a lot of people. Maybe they figured Patrick would be an ass like in Jr; wrong. Emotional he might be, but he's a lot smarter than he gets credit for. Avs take this one

Chicago @ St Louis : The defending champs up against what was the best team in the league a couple weeks ago. Now the Blues back in, losing their last 6 and TJ Oshie was gooned in a nothing game, status questionable. Hawks had injuries to nearly ALL their big names in April, but now all have pretty much recovered. Expect the road accident to continue, Hawks steamroller here

Dallas @ Anaheim : The Ducks somehow strangely underrated, despite having some serious talent in their forwards. Plus Teemu :) You gotta love this guy, an old man outplaying guys who literally are young enough to be his kids. Ducks handily

Los Angeles @ San Jose : The western streetfight; expect no love between these two teams, and the heat on the Sharks to show up and not go down in flames in Round One. Expect high drama and carnage. Seven games with intensity ramping up to 11. Probably the most entertaining series in the first round

EAST

Detroit @ Boston : The new format means some new matchups, and this original six one is one not seen in quite a while. Detroit is scrappy, but Boston shouldn't have too much trouble - unless that whole President's Trophy curse thing is a problem :P

Montreal @ Tampa Bay : The only canadian team in the playoffs, you would think I'd be predisposed to cheer for them? You'd be wrong. Now that it's the playoffs, the backbreaking dicksuck bias from the zebras playing for them should be reduced somewhat, and that leaves them with Price in net, and a couple good forwards. Note the absence of 76. TSN seems to think he something to watch, but frankly I expect little to nothing beyond colossal screwups on D from him. His play has been a non-factor. Expect Stamkos to ramp things up and shine after missing the last half the season with the broken leg. Tampa

Columbus @ Pittsburgh : On face of it, this should be a no-brainer. Sid and his guys mop the ice with them, right? Uh Huh. Goaltending is always a wild card, and Fleury hasn't exactly been Jacques Plante these days :P Pitt should take it but expect some drama along the way

Philadelphia @ New York Rangers : If each conference needs a rough and tumble series, this is the one for the east. Only 2 points seperated these teams, and the only edge maybe is goaltending to the Rangers. Martin St Louis might be a factor, the late trade to the Rangers didn't really register but he certainly has a lot to show. Rangers in 7

Observations so far:
Playoffs going pretty much as expected so far, although St Louis seems to be righting the ship

Colorado's youngsters really are fun to watch

Boston continues to provide plenty of reasons to hate them; Lucic: you suck cock; if it was me you wouldn't be laughing off a 5000 buck fine, you'd be wondering, cockbreath, if your dick and balls could be surgically reattached. Fucking scumbag

And the scumbag zebra brigade continues to give Montreal 4 extra players. Their plane crashing in flames would taste like candy.

Generally officiating has sucked dick enough to airstart a BUFF so far. Its only a miracle it hasnt cost more

Round 2

NY Rangers @ Pittsburgh
Montreal @ Boston

Minnesota @ Chicago
Los Angeles @ Anaheim

Officiating utter garbage in round 1, maybe 1/10 being gracious. Between that and dirty play it did not cover anyone with glory. And not looking much better so far, with retard phantom calls and whining. They pull out the race card in Boston in game 1 already; well, perhaps the fans wouldn't be so pissed if the cocksucker in question had just celebrated like a normal guy instead of posing for his adoring fans.....I REALLY want to see someone put that motherfucker Subban in intensive care. Help us out here, Chara. Boston should win, for pete's sake, its not even close talent wise. What the hell is wrong with you??

NYR and Pitt.....Pitt escaped with their lives in round one, but as predicted goaltending was a road accident. Now they face Lundquist, a REAL good goalie who prob got at least 2 wins by himself in round one against Phily. I donno, I gonna call Rangers here based on the netminders

Minn v Chicago; the defending champs would be more likeable if they would lose the dirty play. Then again, Minnesota sucked in that department as well. Hawks should take this one though

LA v Anaheim; if its the playoffs, its time for the fish to go down in flames. Again. But the Kings did come back from a 0-3 deficit and that was them and good hard play. Could be a very interesting series. Sticking with the Ducks though
