History channel should change their name to "Conspiracy Network".

all of the shows i have seen advertised that are on that channel dont seem to be about any history at all.

We all know what really happened.......

Basic cable History channel is garbadge, all the good (aka actually educational) shows fled to the hi def channels after Mama June started doing hot yoga.

The unending series of marathons for the holidays, which somehow haven't ended yet, just reinforce what a collection of simpering, whiny fuckstains that are getting churned out of the 'education' system. Who can't spell Cat without a K; who can't add a column of 2-digit numbers without a calculator; and who think we maybe deserved to have the Germans Bomb Pearl Harbour....

As for myself I have not even turned on the TV in about 2 months.

I'm really close to canceling my cable subscription and replacing it with Netflix, Hulu and Youtube Red. A&E refusing to stream Walking Dead is the only thing keeping me from doing it.

It really makes you want to turn loose the Chuck on them...

Ditched the television a few years ago and never looked back. What I can't stream, I can usually get together with good people and watch (and then it's always hockey), so much the better with the company. History was one reason I kept the TV for so long; when it began to become the bilge that it is today, I renounced completely. I see it's kept up its (lack of) standards.

Yeah, the slow descent of History Channel into "reality tv" is one of the reasons we ditched satellite. Why pay all that money every month for a bunch of channels, all of which have nothing good to watch?
Started watching a History Channel documentary (on YouTube) the other day on the history of machine tools, and it was execrable. Not sure if it was REALLY dumbed down for their audience, or if that reflected the intelligence and ability of the producers.
