Solar Eclipse August 21

Most people are probably aware that there will be, in some places across the USA, a total solar eclipse on Augut 21, 2017. St. Louis, MO is billed as a top location to see it, assuming clear weather.

I wonder if anyone here is planning to film it. I do not plan to go to St. Louis as the timing conflicts with prime video filming season. The Studio location, however, is only about a 6 hour drive to the prime viewing locations in Missouri and could be used by anyone who wants to avoid the inflated hotel prices that will prevail at that time.

Been waiting the last two and a half years to see it, myself. The last one I saw was in 1994, always wanted to see another before I die.

Not implying anything by that, by the way.

Clear weather will be the only thing; the trajectory is almost perfect for the continental United States. A dozen states, and lots of good sites for viewing totality

Great American Eclipse

I can't miss it. Literally. i'll be listening to the roosters crow for at least a couple of minutes as it happens and I don't have to leave the house. I do plan to observe it but I've not yet had time to figure out exactly how.

Having only seen a couple (and in pre-fancy camera days...:) ) I not sure, but you gotta figure , several units, shooting on tripods as well as handheld, do the trick. Eye protection as needed. Get that diamond ring, we're depending on you
