Today's news is reporting that Emma Morano of Italy has passed away. She was 117 years old and believed to be the last living person born in the 19th century. She was born on November 29, 1899.

The oldest living woman in the world is now Elizabeth Ng'ethe, in Kenya; her great-granddaughter Priscilla works for the BBC and made a recent documentary about a family reunion for the old dear's 117th birithday, shown on BBC World.
