Thanks for the link. It's interesting that Paul Shaffer's crew could get so close to the studio version. Even the tone on the guitar.

The only drawback was how shrill/reedy the sax sounded. In any case, is was super 80's, and a nice trip down memory lane.

In my mind, David Sanborn and Grover Washington Jr. paved the way for a lot of current 'contemporary jazz' Saxophonists. I don't know if you have ever heard any Mindy Abair material. She's got good tone, and a knack for capturing the classic 'hi-fi' sound in her mixes. Dave Koz is good as well.
