Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that a line or description from a piece of qs fiction from ages ago? I seem to recall something similar used in a story featuring two ladies on a business trip in a tropical resort area getting into a sinking situation... but darned if I could recall the name of the story...
It is a cool description...

Just out of curiosity....does the term "Beginnings of a sink" mean that there will be more added of this lovely lass sinking deeper?

Sorry, Weapon X, it just my way of designating the piece as a beginning of the sinking process.

Yes I do seem to recall a similar line from somewhere, but I have been using that metaphor for quite sometime, even before being online, so it could be a matter of Gr8 minds etc....Anyway I do vaguely recall someone else using that line somewhere/sometime.

It is interesting to think of QS as a living thing or even a sexual entity. I always likened it to a mouth myself hungrily gulping down it's prey.

Yes as I do also, and I hope the bog likes to play with it's food first, before swallowing.... I mean who needs table manners!

That's my impression too.
Love hearing about "hungry sands" "gulping mud" and the all important "swallowing..." Of course, there's the being "taken" by the bog...
So many double entendres...
