I went back and added a poll to the first page. Yeah, it's a sad little attempt to generate some feedback (again, thank you sooooo much to the folks who have already responded!) but I really would like to know what people thought. 
Did you like it? Did you not like it? Why? What was your favorite/least favorite part? I figured a poll was the simplest way. Thanks in advance!

Okay to answer my dodgy vote of 'Least favorite: Other.' is simple. There was nothing wrong with this story or the presentation. I don't even have anything against the ending either. It's just my preference that uh... the mud wins. And you wanted to know what my least favorite part was. I wouldn't want you to change anything about the story.

Thank you for taking the time to answer! I do, indeed, want to know.
And I don't think it's dodgy at all, lol. It's a legitimate preference. Typically, I like to save my damsels but I have been known (on rare occasions) to let the mud win. I even have a couple such scenarios in mind currently. I won't change this part of the story but I will direct your attention to the 'To be continued' at the bottom of the last frame...
