I really love all your "girls on horses in quicksand" renders. While humans get stuck, horses get REALLY stuck. Combined with the despair on the girls' faces, your images have an extra load of hopelessness and fear thrown in that really ups the ante. And I don't normally focus that much on quicksand drama.

Of course, the horse hold's the girl's body higher out of the mud so it can remain on display.

Also, the presence of the horse also reminds me of the quicksand scene in "The Neverending Story" which was one of the first quicksand scenes I remember seeing as a kid. So there is some nostalgia factor at play no doubt.
