I had started a drawing a long time ago of them having sex in the mud, but it was coming out very poorly so I scrapped it. Now that I have a good bank of reference pictures I could probably pull it off much better this time around.

My vote is the depth where there's nothing but bubbles left on the surface.

Crotch deep is always a great depth.
(And if the crotch is sink, it's great if the chest is still visible.)

What about eye-level, just over the nose, with bubbles right in front? Should she be cross-eyed or rolled back into her head?
