Of course you are. I don't recall the story but what are your criticisms?

Um, it just seemed unrealistic and lacking in any character. A woman looks for quicksand, steps in it, thinks it's a good idea to go under and dies.

Admittedly mine is a similar idea except you know my character's motivations, her desires, her efforts, and she gets to live. No disrespect intended but I've chatted to some guys online who have similar totally unrealistic ideas about quicksand which seems to come from films and TV, and equally unrealistic ideas about women and what they like. I know it's all something of a fantasy, a fetish, but at least I tried to ground mine in something believable.

But then I've also written erotic fiction for a number of years so I'm coming from a different mindset perhaps?

This story was written right after the internet allowed QSers to discover that they weren't alone. We wrote stories where the quicksand was the star. Basically plop and sink
