Well, I finally broke the long drought in terms of sinking! On Friday, July 14'th, I finally had my first day of biking, hiking and sinking, including creating a brand new video (actually broken up into two - one with the dramatic struggle and submergence, and the other being my escape)! Enjoy!

A hiker had forgotten to take insect repellent with him, and as a result he is being eaten alive by the voracious flies! He gets so distracted that he doesn't watch where he is going and he stumbles into a soft spot, and winds up instead being eaten alive by the voracious soft, heaving, undulating, farting ground! Well, at least the flies can no longer touch him!






Here is a bare patch of disturbed, muddy ground, which doesn't look so ominous. But, in actuality, it had just gulped down a 6' 2" man as its latest meal, whose last exhaled breath farts up to the surface! Will the bog's meal escape? Watch and find out!

On Friday, July 28'th, I had my second adventure of the season, where I had more sinks, both on-camera and off-camera! There was a little bit of extra editing with iMovie 9 to make the scenario work nicely, and solve some problems that had come up during shooting. I wasn't happy about the opening scene with me talking to myself, explaining the situation. I knew what I basically wanted to say, but I kept on trying to remember what exactly to say as I was saying it, resulting in it sounding like I didn't know how to talk properly. But, all in all, the thick, deep, doughy quagmire was the real star!

In my breathing hose video, because the hose wasn't used in a long time, I initially got some dirt and debris from inside the hose into my mouth that I had to spit out at the beginning.

No Escape From Fate!

A man was told by a fortune teller that he would drown before the morning is over, and therefore tries to avoid the water all morning. If he can make it to noon without drowning, then he will beat his fate! But, no matter what he does, he still meets his predicted fate, just not in plain water!





Escape From No Escape From Fate!

The patch of muddy ground looks so innocent. But, it suddenly lets out some farts! Are they swamp gas farts, produced from natural bacterial action breaking down organic matter that is contained in the bog, like it is one gigantic stomach? Nope! It is the escaping exhaled breath from a 6' 2" man sucked beneath the surface, who emerges just after the bubbles, and gasps for breath! He gets sucked down a couple more times, his exhaled air farting out of the doughy mire, before he finally works himself up and then out of the clinging gooey morass to the nearby grass.





Breathing Through A Hose Under Deep Mud!

The mud in this photo doesn't look so ominous. But, watch what happens when a 6' 2" man jumps in right beside the hose! You might want to turn the volume up to hear the mud farting around him as it sucks him down! He then uses the hose to breathe through in order to survive being gulped down so deep that when he reaches over his head, only his hands and wrists break the surface! His exhaled air bubbles and farts at the surface in surges, as he remains deeply encompassed by the suffocating mire! The doughy surface also churns, quivers, heaves and pulsates, as he makes movements inside the belly of the voracious bog, and raises his hands back above the surface, coated in mud, and back under, again and again! Eventually, he works himself up out of clinging ooze, and pulls himself onto the nearby grass.

On Friday, August 4'th, I had my third adventure of the season! I took many photos, and shot more video, including a second breathing tube video! Because it was over 15 minutes, I had to break up the breathing tube video into two pieces, with some overlap, and put them into a playlist, so the second part will play after the first part. Make certain the quality is set to 720p! Enjoy!


Taboo Lands

There is an area where superstitious locals are scared to get within miles of, because they think it is haunted. It seems that people who go there vanish without a trace! So, the area is taboo to the locals, and they frighten off the tourists from coming anywhere near this area! But, that makes it pristine and untouched, a hiker's paradise! So, one brave hiker decides not to listen to the locals, and goes there, really enjoying the beauty of the area! Then he discovers the area's true secret, but by then, it is too late, and he vanishes without a trace!




Escape From Taboo Lands

Here is a patch of bare ground with a disturbed patch in the middle. It doesn't look that scary, but in actuality, it had just swallowed up a 6' 2" man, who is being smothered to death beneath its surface! But, he manages to fight his way back up, gasping for air, before being sucked back down a few more times, before he finally manages to work himself up and out of the sticky ooze!




Quagmire Surface Mush Up

This is raw footage of me crawling over the entire surface of my patch of deep quagmire, mushing up the surface skin into the softer stuff below, turning it into a homogeneous, sticky, gooey morass. Then, I smooth the surface out. If I didn't break up and mix the surface layer into the softer stuff below, it would get very stiff and harder to work with. Also, the sedge grasses on the edge were dropping seeds on top, and if left alone, would germinate and start to carpet the surface! So, I have to keep the entire area churned to keep it open! Watch the bog really quake and heave and pulsate like a waterbed as I do my work! Doesn't it look inviting? I bet a lot of people would love to jump into that, or watch actresses take the plunge into that!




Hidden Hose Deep Bubbling Sink

This next video is in 2 overlapping parts in a playlist.

A long section of hose is buried under a patch of innocent-looking mud to hide it from the camera, leaving the ends exposed. A 6' 2" man jumps in and slowly gets sucked under the surface with the end of the hose in his mouth, the hose totally hidden from view of the camera. The mud is thicker than ever, and the hose is the only thing keeping him alive beneath the suffocating ooze, his exhaled breath bubbling and hissing and farting out of the surface, which occasionally churns, quakes, heaves, pulsates and sways as he struggles beneath the surface! His hands occasionally rise above the surface, before being reclaimed by the hungry morass! Eventually, he works his way back up to the surface, and out of the treacherous quagmire to solid ground! Enjoy!
