Chewed On By Mouth Of Quicksilt And One Sink To Knees!

After reading Nessie's posting in this thread, I decided to submit a video I made back on July 25'th of 2007, of a patch of quicksilt forming a mouth around my waist, which is steadily chewing away at me!

Many years ago, in a separate spot on the valley bottom to the west of the slide, there was a bunch of soft silt spilled over the area from a different part of the hillside, and when it was quite soft, I was able to work myself horizontally under a fallen tree, and managed to lay back and totally submerge myself for the first time ever in the quicksilt! I had some scratches from my buoyancy grinding me against the underside of the fallen tree, but it was worth it!

And here is the video of me first sinking into that patch of mire (first for that day, because I think I had sunk into it on an earlier visit when it was softer, which made it this thick when I returned), with the video ending when I reach my knees. It was extremely thick stuff, which took long to sink into, and made interesting sucking and farting noises as I struggled! All these videos were taken July 25'th, 2007 on my previous camera (Olympus Stylus 770SW), which was in a lower resolution. Anyways, I had shot it as 4 videos, because I wanted to keep them below 10 megs for posting originally, but that has changed now that I am posting on YouTube. So, I merged the 4 short videos into one:
