I wonder if anyone can shed some light on some very odd behavior I have noticed with respect to the chat room.

Several times in the last few days, I have logged out of the chat room only to discover myself logged back in after a few minutes. Two days ago I changed my internet connection from dial-up to wireless using a satellite connection and this change seems to coincide with that.

There may be 'session' retention built into the satellite modem/router/firewall. Kind of like how a download manager works, but at the connectivity level.

You may want to investigate that and see if there is a feature that you may want disabled.

Satellite connections are different from most others. Hughes, for example, uses web accelerators (and probably session assist devices as well).
