If a private message is deleted without being read by the recipient, does it remain in the sender's outbox?

The third page of that thread is only 7 months old, so it seems like the info is still applicable. Thanks for shedding some light on that.

Hi Dave - I'd like to establish the answer conclusively, if at all possible; so I've sent you a quick PM entitled 'DELETE this message without opening [EXPERIMENT]'. It's in my Outbox now - if you can simply delete that, then I'll report back with my findings (thanks in advance, and I hope you don't mind helping satisfy my curiosity here).

I can confirm that the message disappeared from my Outbox, so we learned something of modest usefulness there. Cooperation FTW.
