I've had the same troubles with the txt mode. just be sure that when you enter that you have the /bb at the end of your web address, seemed to fix the problem for me, anything else more technical then that, i'd have to consult the mods also

When you get the unstylized textmode it very likely means that the so-called "stylesheet" associated with the HTML code is unavailable for some reason. Possible they are stored on different servers or some server error has taken place. When the page is completely unavailable the problem is probably more or less the same. Perhaps the hosting server is being re-started, which would explain why its back after a few minutes.

I suppose its also possible that the stylesheet file has gotten lost somewhere in transit.

I've encountered this same issue almost every day on different browsers and different computers for months. It can be fixed by adding the /bb or deleting the cookies from your browser.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for over 20 years. Thank you.
