I remembered two episodes from that series, both of which are listed in Crypto's list of quicksand scenes:

However, the one listed as "Tarzan's Journey to Danger" was miss-identified, and is actually:
Tarzan and the Enemy Within
Haunted by the same obsessing nightmare of the air crash which took the life of his parents and forced him to live alone in the jungle, Tarzan returns to the location of the accident to come to terms with his past. In one scene, he builds a path across some very watery quicksand and hops across. Jane, however, falls into it and goes all the way under before Tarzan dives in with a vine and rescues her. They wash up under a waterfall.

The other one is:
Tarzan and the Toxic Terror
Tarzan uncovers an illegal toxic-waste dumping operation run by old enemy Hauser. Jane borrows a metal detector to follow the metal pipe that is being used to dispose of the chemicals. She gets spooked by a cat (looks like a cougar, but I don't think there are cougars in Africa) and drops it into some watery leaf-covered quicksand. (The scene lasts only a few seconds.)

For some reason, I thought it was Roger who lost the metal detector, so the entry in Crypto's list is incorrect.
