Here's a great copy of the tar pit climax to the episode The Challenger, from The Legend of Tarzan, where a new ape leader ends up leads the apes into a tar pit, and a big snake is after them. Tarzan and Jane rescue the apes and lure the snake into the pit to its doom. Pretty grim for a Disney TV cartoon...
