Trinidad Pitch Lake Tour Very interesting and educational I think. Depending on how deep it is, it looks like you could sink pretty easily in the large pits in the beginning and again at 17:50, and especially at 20:45.
Lake In Trinidad Has Spa-Like Effects On Your Body In this one you can actually see someone walking on the "shiny" spots, but it looks like their feet are wet, which I assume might briefly prevent the tar from adhering to your skin, and you notice they don't stop in one spot.
I think it also depends on how fresh and warm the tar is. The warmer and fresher, the more dangerous it is and likely you are to able to sink in it. The cooler and older, the safer it is to walk on, as seen in the first video.
