So it's been a while since I last posted and left a hint at a "new spot" I found when it was still a bit colder out. Now that it's good and hot and the snow melt and monsoons seem to have dissipated I went back out to that spot and it turned out to be better than I'd thought. There is a 2nd spot about 50 feet through a grove of cattails but it still has a lot of standing water in it and I know that the mud underneath is really deep. But I don't really want to get sucked into the mud below and be in the water to my neck or worse. My adrenalin jones just isn't that strong at this point.
This is the only one of me that was actually worth uploading, I'm only using my cell phone camera on this outting. I did manage to get in waist deep with no signs of bottom. There was one spot in particular that when I hit it, it was just nice warm mud. The water source traveling through this spot wasn't "cold" but cool and it was such a nice treat to hit that warm layer and be surrounded by it.
This last one is a little area to kinda climb out and take a break, it's on the opposite side of where I came in, I still had to go back across (up to my waist oh darn) to get back out again. As you can see the cattails are 6' plus in all directions so it's a nice secluded spot, off the beaten path (bike path that is) and what's visible of the trail back to it is fairly overgrown. The only individuals that would be back there would most likely be somebody from this forum doing the same thing I am, so no worries. I'll post some more next time I go out. Might even take the digital cam and try and take some silent movies.
Enjoy!!

Re: New Spot
Bart,
That's good cuz I'm probably not interested in you either, although I'd gladly sink with any of the SWEET avatar's you've used on your profile.
The location is actually close to a creek (which has been flowing rather rapidly since the spring run off and numerous monsoonal rains we had) and is also fed from a large pond just to the north and it might even be fed from underneath.
About 20 yards thru the reeds is the creek and I'm thinking it may be fed underneath from this creek. I think as the flow slows down this spot will turn into solid mud, nice and thick and clingy. If I can get the google map thing to work I'll post a pic from the surrounding area, and of course some more pics.

Re: New Spot
Bart here is a link that should open up to the general vicinity of this spot. I think most of the water feeding it comes from that lake up and to the left, but I think the creek feeds it underneath as well.
