My Friday, August 9'th photos continued - Pictures 6-10:
Three views of the mushed-up patch of quagmire after I did some more playing in it. Doesn't it look inviting?

Pictures 21-25 (the last of the day):
Another picture of bare, wet, mossy ground on the northeast region of the pond:
After that was when I had an enjoyable sink with swim goggles and a breathing hose. There wasn't time for a separate shorter session for video. But, here are a few pictures of my sinking spot after that, at the end of the day. As I mentioned before, doesn't it look inviting?
A low, close-up view of my patch of sucking quagmire. Towards the lower left, you can see the impressions in the surface that were left by my breathing hose:
One last picture of some mossy ground on the eastern part of the northern part of the pond:

Re: BM's Boggy Backgrounds! Updated Jan 8'th, 2014!
On Thursday, August 22'nd, I had my fourth outing of the season, where I not only visited my Crescent Road pond, but also another pond off Crescent Road on the way there, which was hidden in the woods, and full of sticks/branches and liquid mud, which I would check out on the way to my Crescent Road pond from time to time. My original plan was to pick up a large black bucket that I saw laying around the trail entrance, and take it to my Crescent Road pond, which I would then use to transfer mud from surrounding locations to my sinking spot, raising its level enough to get it to become exposed and thickened earlier in the season (just raising it by one inch can make it exposed a week or so earlier than if nothing was done)! I was debating about whether to have a sink before or after the mud transfer, although I needed to go in after anyways, to mix in and redistribute the newly added mud.
But, this time when I visited the liquid mud and sticks pond, I noticed a fair bit of mud exposed, and I just couldn't resist the temptation to try it out! So, I wound up spending the morning there (most of the mud exposed was actually thicker, since the thinner stuff was still submerged), and the afternoon at my Crescent Road pond, where the mud had thickened nicely since my last sink there. So, I never had enough time to do any of my mud transfer, having to leave it until the next outing. Because I was visiting more than one area, in addition to shooting sinking/struggling footage in multiple places that I later merged together at home into a larger video plus one separate escape video, I also wound up snapping a substantial number of pictures, and am posting most of them, 38 photos, including a couple of another small boggy pond by Crescent Road across from the trail that led to the liquid mud and sticks pond. So, here they are:
Pictures 1-5:
Liquid mud and sticks pond with a lot of reflection of the surrounding forest on the water (the third is a bit blurry):
Some pix where I had tried to carefully stand on top of the thicker mud in my shoes, but it slowly gave way, expelling swamp gas as I stood there:
To be continued...

I then had my sinks, testing out 4 different parts of the shoreline in front of the camera for the video. Here are pix of the disturbed areas:
These three were taken after I finished shooting two sinks in two different spots:

Re: BM's Boggy Backgrounds! Updated Jan 8'th, 2014!
My Thursday, August 22'nd photos continued - Pictures 21-25:
After I shot the 4 videos, I did some off-camera playing/struggling in the mud in several places before cleaning up by crawling out onto a log sticking out into the water (there was no solid ground there). I then got dressed before taking a few more pix:
After returning to my bike with my stuff and having lunch while walking around the area, I snapped a couple of pix of a small boggy pond across the road from the trail that led by the liquid mud and sticks pond, accidentally slipping briefly and landing on my butt in the moss when I was in the general position to take the second of these two photos:
To be continued, moving on to my Crescent Road Pond...
