I know a few, the far north end of Walker Lake in Nevada is definitely a good one, used it for years. I used to have a mud pit in Ca near Barstow that was great but it gradually filled up with silt and dried up. Another one was Silver Lake north of Baker Ca but , same thing, filled up and dried up. I really need to visit these locations with a back hoe some day and clear that crap out.

Hey everyone. I am planning on going to the eastern cost of the USA I was wondering if there are any beaches known for having quicksand or deep mud. I was also wondering if quicksand pound in Rhode island actually had quicksand or it was just named that to scare kids back in the day. Thanks for all of your help.

Re: Sinking Locations For Everyone... With your help??
Does anyone know of any good sinking locations in mid- or North Wales?
I've discovered a few spots with nearly waist-deep peat, but am looking for something more... perilous. Deep bogs that might as well be bottomless, sticky mud that sucks you in and refuses to let go, that kind of thing.
Any tips, directions or guided tours would be much appreciated!

Shame. I was hoping for more spots in Ohio, but there isn't a single one listed on the map. Maybe I'll list the quarry I live by after I scout it out. >w>

I believe there are bogs in the Llanarmon area in North Wales but how deep or big I don't know.
I was told fairly recently that they are near a path in the area of The Hand Pub.
If I can find out any more precise information I will post it.
I hope this helps.
Good luck.

Ikr! Didn't the state of Ohio used to be nothing BUT bog a few hundred years ago? There's gotta be something. A lot of somethings.
Ah well. We just gotta do some exploring.

I'm in southwestern PA near Pittsburgh. That seems like a big blank spot on the map. Does anyone know of anything nearby (or within a few hour's drive even?)
