Dear Fans of iQuikSand....

Whew! What will they think of next??

I've been enjoying many of the AVI shorts and photos people have on this site; some are truly great.

I've been keeping my old buggy whip, just in case it came back into fashion, but I guess maybe not...

I've been playing with Sora for a few days now - is there a file size restriction to attaching examples in forum posts, should such content be restricted to the AI section ? At first I was annoyed by the community aspect (just wanted to create/share funny content with friends) until I came across a video of police handcuffing Mac and cheese. It dawned on me: I’m ok w the social network side because it’s clear by design, all videos are manifestations of someone else’s imagination - where as who the hell knows what you’re looking at on other social media platforms anymore.

It’s going to be interesting see how it plays out for the public figures/celebrities that endorse their likeness on the platform. This is a step towards the future promised in Star Treks holodecks - if we can verbally describe it, we can create and experience it. Granted Trek isn’t shy about referring to humanity's past as being wacko violent unpredictable people, and it took the bell riots, eugenics wars and world war 3 before we got our shit together, all of which were predicated to be around nowish… Until then - Live Long and Prosper :)

In short? They don’t. SAG-AFTRA already disavowed its use and it was among the conflicting points to which Actors, Writers and producers went on strike for about a year. The only way they could is with expressed consent and fair compensation as described in the agreement. They might try to poach new nonunion actors, but that’s gonna end real quick when they hit the recognition level of many of the unionized folks and don’t see a penny more for their efforts.

Even darker still…

We are not just walking but SPRINTING to a full on clampdown by Federal regulation. It’s just a good court case away. Like I been saying…We are not ready.

Now, AI could be an efficient tool to make workflows easier in editing. I know because it’s available in my editor. They shorten actions to color grade or skin edit but as benign splitting the atom was supposed to be, look what we did with it.

I have found a bug with SORA 2. It would seem that as my videos progress SORA starts adding white lines everywhere, more often around black borders but not always. and it accumulates and gets worse over time. Not sure why it does that. See my sample below. By the last image even the trees and mud are affected by this flaw.

This may only apply to graphic art like this and not to realistic photo-quality imagery but I have seen a few signs that the latter may also be affected.

The is wasting a lot of renders and costing me money. Nothing is perfect I guess. C'mon SORA 3 with fixes  ;)

The character is "Special Week" from the horse-girl racing anime and game "Umamusume Pretty Derby." https://packaged-media.redd.it/3fd2l65h ... 218769b5fd

Here is a sample of the video. I basically had to throw all this work (and money) away and start over. Discouraging.
