Alone in the Quicksand is indeed a good one. Quicksand Terror from Dave is incredible - sinking scene after sinking scene - best buy for the money - most good scenes. Studio 588 and PRP also have many good videos - it's like a candy store. You can't g wrong, really. Devilclown sold a whole bunch of videos that never got sent out (yeah, I got burnt), even though he has posted a lot for free on line. It depends on which appeals to you the most. Good luck.

These last two posts are pretty much inappropriate for this (public) part of Quicksand Fans.

The good news is that the producers generally have very good information on their web sites (or at least in their forums) about their products and/or where to go to find out more.

Folks who have been around know that I absolutely abhor comparisons, and that's the main reason I'm chiming in here.

Sorry, certainly didn't mean to get off track. I was just enthusiastic about the content and am interested in all the producers, and where to find their work(big names and small). Just starting out and asking questions in my opening thread. From now on I will make sure to ask only in the correct forums.

So far I joined up on ClubMPV and it's providing me lots of direction to most of the directors. Still interested in finding more.

I'm in upstate NY (Albany area.) I have the space for a studio (50 acres) and I spent a week helping Fred588 as 2nd camera and general "gofer." I really want to start doing my own QS and DID videos, but it's going to be awhile before I can afford decent equipment- those HD video cameras and video-editing workstations don't come cheap. Paying the models is going to be a big investment also. I tease Fred, Dave & company that being a QS video producer is like being a low-level drug dealer; you sell just enough to support your own habit.

I appreciate the welcome and offers to help. I wanted to think of some other things to ask, but checking out most of the links. See quite a few must haves already.

Anyway wondering about finding video samples for studio588. The have quite a few vids of their own, but not sure I came across any samples. Also wondering about 2 of the studios and there websites. DIDVP seems to be down for now and the link to Duncan Edwards is no good.

I can say atm the slow sink is my favorite. Would love to see more vids like the one that made me look more. It was Devil Clown Krystal quicksand. The way it goes from ankles to full sink was nice. Is that video available to purchase anywhere? Only seen it on youtube.

That's what I will be looking for to start. Also the jumping in to the pit immediately up to the waist or higher was cool. So far that's all I have seen with that thru samples, not sure where it goes from there in some.

Probably will start by joining Club MPV and hope they have some vids from quicksand visuals(which is the same company, different type i assume). "Alone in the quicksand" seems like a good first DVD to buy and the UMD site is something I need to check out more.

BTW I live in northern New Jersey, but might be moving if I decide to try my hand at my own websites. Right now I have no clue how or where to start. Like I was also saying, this genre seems cool to try, but having locations I see is key, or a good studio. I must admit I got hooked very quickly by all this.
