From the search video they have run on television the area appears to be more of a tangle of shrubs and miscellaneous jungle types of vegetation than simple marsh. I think they are saying she may have gotten so entangled in that (the article said it was night when she was last seen) that she could not get free, more than that she was stuck in mud. After all if she was really stuck in mud that's how should would have be later found, and that is not what the various stories seem to be saying.

Coastal marshes of New York and New Jersey have long been a final resting place for people who ran afoul of lunatics and certain family type operations. Some of those "sex trade workers" may have simply known more than they should have about something or were trying to get away from those who took them for a final ride. A grim reminder of the more sinister aspects of our interest.

So this dead hooker just happened to be in the vicinity of 10 other dead hookers but this dead hooker probably drowned.....yup. Stand aside folks, New York's finest are at work.
Can't imagine how fucked up it would be to find a body at my favorite sinking spot.

It has occurred to me more than once that many of the places I frequently frequent would be wonderful places to dump a dead body if I was a nefarious nasty killer who needed to get rid of one.

Once I am off the trail and in the cattails, it's totally private in there. I really think that decades could easily go by with no human eyeballs seeing the places that I see...except me, I guess.

The only real death I've ever found out in a cattail bed have been a couple fish kills in early spring (and one of those is enough to make me write off a mudpit for a long time - bleccch!) and one heap of empty clamshells. No clam bodies, though...just shells...methinks somebody wild and non-human was feasting on clams.

The only comforting thought I have on the subject is that whatever effort I expend to get to where I long to be must be doubled, at the very least, by anybody who's lugging a dead body. Not to mention, before I get to the good mud, I often dodge a lot of sinkholes that are mostly watery, substandard mud, and I step over delicate springy ground too.

I have wondered about this, though. If I find a body...um...of course I will call the police, because there is no way that reporting this isn't much more important than my fetish, but it sure is gonna be tough explaining exactly how I came to find it.
