Survey: Ignorance is bliss

We're mostly used to the damsel falling into quicksand and shouting that iconic line, but there's also a thrill in not knowing what you're trapped in. Knowledge is power, some might say, but ignorance is bliss. Does knowing too much about your peril ruin the experience? This week's poll shall reveal!

I like a combination of the first two. The damsel is surprised as she has no idea what's she stepped into. She's then concerned and a little put out as she's gotten her shoes/socks/feet dirty. It's only when she realizes she can't pull free, or that she's going in deeper, that she starts to get scared. When it finally hits her that it's quicksand, she panics and really starts struggling.

This would apply, of course, for scenes with long, leggy sinks. I know some prefer she go in up to her waist or chest right at the start, but my personal preference is for a long sink with her legs straining as she tries to pull free.

I also like scenes where she survives, or there's at least a chance for a rescue at the end. I even like it when, after she's in up to her neck or so, she realizes she likes this stuff and starts to relax and have fun.

As I said, these are my personal preferences. You may differ. It's a free country!

I like the second choice where the gal only thinks it's just a "little mud" and is thus willing to walk further out onto the mud... provided her feet aren't already stuck fast at this point. :D

Also, the idea that the gal is annoyed that her shoes are muddy and doesn't realize the danger until she finds her feet stuck in the mud as she slowly sinks.

I like this scenerio since it's likely to lead to a nice, long, leggy struggle and sink.

The results are pretty spread so far. It's interesting to see the diverse preferences.

newtothis,

I found your answer to be interesting. There are not too many females on here than have shown interest in males sinking in quicksand. I always enjoy seeing females sinking in quicksand and have experienced that, but never thought about having an experience of a female leading me to quicksand.
