aching hands

hi all, just a quick question, yesterday i went out and explored some tidal mud. when i had finished and had cleaned up i noticed i had quite a few cuts on my hands from things under the serface. today my hands and forearm arm feel really achey, just wondering if they were related and or if any other health problems can occur from it. im not the most educated person on it and im wondering if someone with superior knowledge could tell me if there could be a problem or im just worrying. Bear in mind I am not an MD. The first question I think your doctor would ask is whether or not your hands are hot or swollen in any way. If they are hot, that is if the skin feels hot, it likely means an infection. Is there any discoloration or do you feel achey all over (as when you have a fever). Those could also indicate an infection. On the other hand its possible your hands are just tired or might be reacting to hypothermia (if the tidal mud was very cold.

If you have ANY signs of an infection or just want a competent medical opinion, see your doctor. If the achiness spreads, see your doctor immediately.

Crawling around in the mud for an hour is a workout like you rarely receive. I like to think I'm reasonably fit but Kristine and I both used to feel muscle pain in unusual places after trips to Chester. You'll be okay.

I was out yesterday and had a sink that lasted almost 2 hours from initial step out of the kayak to cleaning up and paddling back to the boat launch. My entire body is sore today, from my neck down to my toes! Between the paddling, the struggle of the sink, the release during the sink, the struggle to get out and the paddle back, it was exhausting!

It's a good sore, like after a hard work out in the gym.
