It probably varies depending on the celebrity; some don't like their personal lives encroached on, others be perfectly happy to sign autographs at trade shows and such.

I know the one time I bumped into Pat Burns in Toronto, my reaction was "hey, coach Burns, hows it going?" , and he smiled and waved. But he prob was used to it, being the coach of the Leafs and within 2 blocks of the Gardens. Plus, he always was an approachable guy

I remember running across Nina Hartley at a store (To those that don't know, at one point she was the gang bang queen.). Now other than QS, porn isn't really my bag, but Nina was on Howard Stern and was fairly well known, so my friend approached her for an autograph. Her reply was "Who am I? Why would you want my autograph?" When my friend informed her of who she in fact was, she flat out denied it and walked away. She happened to be there with her husband the Blue Meany, who was a wrestler. Being a wrestling fan I approached him and we chatted. Cool guy. Nina came over and chatted with us and even gave me two free tickets to an upcoming CZW wrestling event. Before I walked away I leaned in and said "You are Nina right?" She smiled and said "Enjoy the show."

So, as I said, does it happen and if so do you ladies enjoy it or prefer fans to keep their distance?

I've been recognized before, a few times actually. I don't mind it but there was one time I was having a bad day & I looked completely disheveled and a fan ran into me haha I was mortified but now it's kind of funny looking back. I do a lot of conventions so I'm used to seeing my fans face to face. As long as a person is respectful, I welcome the approach.

A while back Scarlett Winchester who did Four Babes in a Bog said she'd been reconized.

Also once I happen to see cast member of Star Trek in a restaurant having lunch one day. I happen to be with my family. It was a situation we wanted to say something yet we didn't want to disturb his meal. As he was leaving we did wave and he waved back.

It's never happened.

I suspect that it probably will not, because my "video self" is so radically different from my "mainstream self". Some of the stuff I've worn for videos I would never, ever wear anywhere else -- and the way I've acted in some of my scenes (strong language, especially) divert so totally from the way I relate to real people in real life that I suppose that if I did run into someone who's seen my videos -- even a lot of them -- they simply wouldn't make a connection.

Maybe someday my work will become wildly famous or something.

Probably not.

But we can hope.

The older I get, the less I worry about "recognition".

I've had fans recognize me at conventions for my porn work. In a situation like that I don't mind people coming up to me and asking to take a photo with me. The only time it was a bit awkward was when I had some guy come up to me while my husband and I were on vacation at a beach. I had just gone to get us ice cream and then was meeting my husband back at our blanket but the guy kept asking me questions, I didn't want to be rude but finally had to say I needed to get going because my ice cream was melting and my husband was probably wondering what was taking so long. It was also a little weird to have someone asking me about porn while out in public with a bunch of kids running by.

I haven't yet been recognized for my quicksand work, at least not that I know of. I know there are people in my area who view my work so who knows, maybe one day that will happen!

This reminds me of what Humphery Bogart said about being a movie star, and having to deal with people feeling they can come up to you and asking you anything, just because they recognize you... "all you owe the public is a good performance." :D

It's why I tend not to approach famous people... hate to bug them just because I'm a fan. They are people too, and deserve their own space. :)

The proper response to meeting a beautiful and talented actress/model in real life is to bow respectfully. Kneeling, with your butt touching your heels and your forehead and the palms of your hands pressed to the ground is about right. ;)
Do not speak unless spoken to, and if she acknowledges your presence, the obligatory response (without removing your forehead from the ground) is simply "What is thy bidding, my Mistress?"
Should she answer, let your heart rejoice, for behold, all acts of love and pleasure are her worship. Therefore let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honor and humility, mirth and reverence within you. Domina Magna, sit nobiscum nunc, fac nos gratiam in conspectu tuo. . .

Sorry. Got a bit carried away there.

Over here in Australia, i have been in 1 or 2 Mighty car mods videos along with one of my cars. so its not porn industry related but i do get people coming up to me either at car meets and some times while im just out and about asking questions about my ute and is it really me from such and such episode.

only thing that can get annoying is, im at a car meet to look at other peoples cars and ill have 1 or 2 people just follow me around acting like we are best friends. its fine for the first 5 mins but after 1 hr of this and the guy following me as i was making my way to the dunny (Australian for toilet), i had to just say "hey man give me a lil space".

but its only the odd 1 out of a heap that are like that. Sadly there isnt any quicksand models here for me to bump into even if i did, i wouldn't approach them in person just on the street as talking about porn in public is a bit confronting.
