An observation

Postby schlamm » Tue Sep 08, 2015 7:33 am

This may well get me banned, but so be it....silent for too long on this subject.

A trend has emerged that is further and further distancing me from this fetish and keeping my credit card in my wallet.
When did it become almost all about Lesbianism and masturbation and grim endings and less about the damsel in distress struggling to free herself or awaiting a rescue?
If one looks back over the past 12 months at the huge number of productions that include masturbating, same sex encounters or implied grim endings they will discover the vast majority of offerings are exactly that. Very few struggles, slipping and sliding or becoming stuck other than up to their neck...or further.
No, I have no intentions of becoming a producer nor do I even so much as entertain the notion that mine is the only opinion that matters, but I am also not a buyer of the vast majority of what is being offered either.
Yes, I realize that it is a very narrow theme that entertains us, but it seems there could be a lot more that doesn't involve lesbianism or masturbation

The producers beg for feedback so how is providing what they desire going to get you banned? Aside from the odd troll we never banned anyone in my three years as moderator and I'm unaware of any others.

MPV has a problem only in that it caters to the widest possible audience. Instead of taking such issue with what others obviously want to purchase why don't you ask more for what you would prefer? We know what you don't like so please be more specific about what you might like to see and maybe it will happen. I know during my time as a producer we shot what we were familiar with or what pushed our respective buttons. I never messed much with DID because it was a language I didn't speak very well. It's obvious that Jim Weathers likes vibrators, fixed indoor sets, great fetish wear costumes, and bondage. If that's your groove then he makes the best there is. Jumpoff Joe appears to be very fond of short hair and spandex. I love his work as well as Jim Weathers but again it's a fairly narrow audience in both cases.

My suggestion would be that you create a story outline within the means of one of those producers and send it to them. Give them something specific to work with and it will make it much easier for them to give you what you want.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

While I tend to think that spandex makes for great quicksand attire, I have diversified this somewhat in recent shoots. 8-)

I do like struggle scenes, too, but I also like diversity. What I like most, though, is reading everyone's feedback on this subject so we can really appreciate what it is that makes this fetish tick for everyone.

It' pretty sad that this is the mindset on this forum. I agree, it can be difficult to speak one's mind around here.

May I suggest this website? Could be wrong, but this sounds like what you're looking for.

Throwing my two cents in, I'm definitely on your side regarding preferring more of the dramatic struggling aspect with a rescue at the end versus the grim dramatic endings. Having said that I actually thought it was kind of the opposite. I feel we are getting my self rescue scenes versus submersion endings, but this is dependent on the producer. Just take a little extra time to browse your options if you can. Sekani's suggestion is one of the best examples of a large number of self rescue scenes coming out of quicksandgirls.com. Another producer making a lot of rescue scenes is Didvp. Leila has taken over since Mike retired and we're seeing more rescue scenes versus stuck or submersion endings. I'll side with you that the sex in quicksand scene's do seem to have gone up, but I don't particularly dislike that, but that's just me.

Ahh...I get what you mean.

I'm old enough to remember when the Internet was new and I found my quicksand online, and was ecstatic. Then there was the day when I encountered naked girl/masturbating/lesbian clips...and I went....

???!!!

What does this have to do with quicksand fetish? Where are the struggling people? The drama? The danger? The original, primal quicksand fantasy born in Hollywood?

It's just ordinary naked girls and porn...well, okay, it's soft porn, not hard porn and not ugly porn...but it is just regular stuff for regular hetero men with a lot of mud added.

Over the years, I got used to seeing it, and I even hired a couple topless models. But my personal fetish seems to be very, very specific in some ways and it's hard for others to really hit the mark for me, and mostly, I didn't even hit it myself with my own material.

You know what, though...there came a day when a regular ordinary guy not in our community borrowed a topless-model-in-quicksand clip from me and took it home for a few days. When he returned it, it turns out that he absolutely, 100% loved it.

I think the answer is that producers have to have a wider audience than the traditional quicksand fetish to survive financially. If you are able to do it, and you succeed at doing it, why not do it?

There is a lot of material actually available here, and I suspect you need to dig around more than you have. Check out what people are pointing out here.

However, you are right to speak out. It may be that some scenes need more publicity than they're getting.

But people do get what they ask for. And pay for.
