1996 - the FIRST picture I remember

Both of the pictures on this thread so far are from Kaol, who was my first exposure to quicksand as well. The top one of the slim blonde may have been taken before Kaol ever met Chuck Lang. Don't think I ever had a name for that model. There was definitely a bridge involved, though, and she was under it.

The other (denim miniskirt) was taken at Chester, IL and the model is Christy North.

The first picture I ever saw from our community was a large photo of a woman in quicksand on the home page of Kaol's Ol' Sinkin' Hole. I hit this at work, off the clock, just typing "quicksand" into the search engine to perhaps read actual news stories, never imagining that anything but the news would show me a thing...never imagining that anything in the news could possibly be considered fetishy...but the Sinkin' Hole was one of the very top results.

This was in 2000.

I didn't get to go inside the page for two more weeks since, unlike the news, it was quite obviously not a thing one would investigate at work...besides it played music...I backed out within five seconds, but decided immediately that I needed my own computer.

The first quicksand I remember... Back when I first got into the whole mud/QS thing, I watched the Bill Nye Wetlands video, and when he talks about "real quicksand", the scene that plays was the first one I saw. But that was like 2009 or 2010. The first QS scene I saw in my "modern era" of being on the Internet was probably the famous Krystal red dress quicksand scene, sometime between August 2013 and June 2014. I remember how I found this site. I was watching some DIDVP teaser QS videos on YouTube. Then I navigated to this site through the links in one of the descriptions. The rest is history that can be viewed by just going through all my posts.

I'm not sure of my earliest image but I have several memories, dating back to the late 1950s, from various movies on television. There were some from Tarzan, one from Ramar of the Jungle, and also at least one movie teaser I have posted about but never been able to identify. My earliest image from the fetish world would, I think, be a very small one bearing the title (I think) of "death" which turned out to be a screencap from a video done by WAVE IDS. It induced me to buy the video but that was a very instructive disappointment. The still created the illusion of very thick peat, with the female character seconds from submersion. The motion in the video, unfortunately, revealed the peat to be mostly water. That was very instructive in demonstrating, to me, that a videographer must think in terms of the motion taking place, in contrast to the still photographer. That is, the videographer must taken the fact of motion into account.

I concur with Nessie. These are Kaol's, and I have the VHS tape (yes, that long ago). The first is a (not know model name) who is retrieving a sword thrown into the shoreline muck from a walkway bridge. The second, as Nessie says, is Kristy North in "Lost Pooch," where she stumbles in looking for her lost dog. Good memories - among the first videos I was exposed to after finding out (cliché) that I was not the only one with this interest.

I'm trying to create my own personal Wayback Machine. It's hard... time and I have a casual relationship in the best of times. But I know my first encounter with quicksand content online came via long-distance dialup to AOL on a Commodore Vic 20. I remember playing Lunar Lander on that same machine with Joey F, a neighbor, who didn't attend the same high school as me, so that must have been 7th or 8th grade. I guess that puts it between '79 and '81. But I used that same machine to chat with Daniel M, who I met in high school, which puts it between '81 and '83. I think. There was a Timex-Sinclair TS 1000 in there, followed by the Commodore C-128. Anyway, sometime between '79 and '83.

I do remember my first encounters were via A.S.F.W-A-M and A.B.E.F.W-A-M. Stumbling onto The Quicksand Page, followed by Kaol's Ol' Sinkin' Hole, came later, after such a thing as HTML existed. And WAMTEC was in there somewhere. I think WAMTEC evolved into MPV, which is pretty ironic in a way.

Well, in my case the bit where I (a) found out I was not alone,
(b) nearly soiled myself due to (a1) being at work and the fact that I had the speakers on. Nobody in human history- Not even Alan Shepard trying to land in Fra Mauro without landing radar- has ever turned down the volume that fast.
(c) Kaol was one of the true pioneers of our little kink/fetish; he gave far more than he took, if at all; and if it wasn't for him, some of us would still be using our imagination: he brought quicksand to awesome (S-VHS) life. What was that first AltaVista page you looked up? Yeah

Well, you didn't work in my company, because the same thing was going on in my cubicle. We surely would have heard each other.

So...technically...the first quicksand picture that tipped me off to the existence of others would be the photo of Ann that was on Kaol's home page.

She was smiling.

My Hollywood-raised quicksand soul did not understand pictures of people smiling in quicksand because wasn't it deadly drama? And inside the page, many of the models wore swimwear. I also did not understand the concept of bikini-clad women sinking in quicksand, for didn't everyone just blunder in, wearing whatever they happened to have on at the time? My fantasies were all about surprise, danger, drama and peril.

Swimwear and smiles ruined everything. It told me that people were actually preparing, in advance, to sink...as in, on purpose.

On the other hand, though...if that woman could really smile while in a quicksand pit, that meant that quicksand was attainable. Not a thing to be avoided. And I definitely wanted to know more about that!

And when I knew, I understood the smile, and the swimwear.
