Side note:
If you would like to experience what this is like without the threat of trespassing, semi-sober hunters, or just not finding a satisfying depth of mud, I highly recommend paying a visit to Studio 588. You'll never find a more convenient and comfortable situation - I spent many, many years trying.
Fred is a gracious host and the conditions (apart from the odd thunderstorm) are ideal. This environment will not be available indefinitely.
I have been there more than a few times and never had anything but a stellar time.
How would one know if a thunderstorm is odd. Maybe its even.
