It's not so much controversial as it would just be difficult. The divided nature of niches and venues within the fetish would make such a thing very difficult to manage. Maybe it could be limited to those no longer with us but they are already beyond any need of a contest to honor them. One sort of compromise might be a pantheon of past heroes of the fetish. People like Chuck Lang, Pete Boggs, Rob Blaine, etc should be remembered. That then begs the question of who wants to organize and manage such a thing. You would have to get out there and do it and wait for the rest of the fetish to catch up with the idea. Good luck.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

I am all for acknowledging those who have contributed to this subculture over the years.

Judging someone due to their particular sub-genre of the kink or playing favourites?
As others have suggested, this is the problem with the pursuit and execution of such a concept.

I don't nominate myself for any awards. Not even a contender. But those who create videos? Pete Boggs? Chuck Lang? I can get behind such nominations. But not to be exclusionary in doing so, am sure there are others who Do Their Thing and Contribute In Their Own Way.

This is to add to the argument against somethng like this by pointing out that some of the most important people in our community are largely almost anonymous and prefer it that way. I speak of those who pay the bills; those people who purchase videos, stills, cstom art work, and the like. Also, there are people who donate resources, sometimes in fairly large amounts.
Studio 588 currently offers more than 2200 different HD and QD quicksand videos and has supported production of well over 2400 video scenes and other projects by 20 different producers. Info may be found at:

Yeah, I largely feel this topic has been explored in previous experiments and iterations of this community. Remember the points system over at DS and how many arguments that caused? To me it’s a “no thanks”. This forum has been running pretty smoothly without much issues because of the people behind the scenes and as Fred mentioned, many would like to stay there.

As the old adage goes “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.
“We have no food.
We have no jobs.
OUR PETS HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!”
