An Enthusiastic Hello, and a Quick (sand) Question

Been almost 15 years since I did that fateful search. Back then it was only a couple sites, literally. Glad to see that the sense of awe and wonder does not go away after all this time.

Yeah, to chime in, I am 54 years old, so I grew up in the 1960's - way pre-internet, cell phone, etc. And yes, I thought the cliche thought that I was the only one. It was not until we got the internet in our household in 1998 that I discovered all of you other folks - what a relief and a surprise! Welcome - there are some pretty good posters on this site. I have posted 5 stories in the STORIES section - I can't draw, so I write instead - check them out if you want, and welcome.

I remember searching the internet in 1996 and finding a bunch of stuff all at the same time: Kaol's Old Sinking Hole, Chuck Lang, and the newsgroup alt.sex.fetish.wetandmessy. The first person I spoke to in the community was Chuck Lang, arguably the patriarch of quicksand video and photography: he was first because he printed his telephone number on his photos

Since then I've explored a lot of places, met a lot of people on here who have all been wonderful. Hopefully your experiences will be as good as mine.

Guess I'll add in my two bits...

Found the community the same way back in 1998, with an internet search, just on the off chance. Hit Kaol's Ol' Sinking Hole and The Quicksand Page. They and others formed the gateway to a larger world which I never imagined existed.

Like most folks here, thought I was the only one with this quicksand thing. Nice to be proven wrong.

For the record I'm 43 heading to 44, do what I can to contribute by posting cartoon photo manips, the occasional story and various things I find along the way and basically enjoy the company.

Which leads me to ask a quicksand question: does anyone know of good sinking areas in Alberta, preferably around the Edmonton area? Any input would be pretty sweet.

i live in Edmonton and have a line on a fairly descent sinking hole withing the city limits that i frequent quite often, feel free to drop me a line through a PM or on messenger and feel free to ask, i also did add it to the google maps of sinking locations ^^

you should send me a message and let me know where to in edmonton, many years i go several times a year to edmonton but no idea any pplaces

Use Google Earth to locate the massive excavations south of Wabamun Lake (about an hour's drive west of Edmonton). These can be accessed in the evenings with little trouble from the south but be careful where you park. Some of the old pits are filled with several feet of the creamiest stuff you'll ever sink into....
