Re: quarry help?
Looks like there might be some good settling ponds there. I usually look for places that have large pools of brown clay, sometimes partially dried up, so there's a bit of water exposed too. If there are settling ponds, there are likely "washing operations" so they can dump the excess silt/sediment into the ponds in the first place. I've been to several quarries, some have amazing, "bottomless" mud with easy access, some have some OK mud but are hard to access (or the settling pools are all very "settled", meaning there is a lot of water on top of the mud), and some places are pretty hard to access in the first place. So sometimes it just takes investigating a few locations. Feel free to PM me and I'd be happy to help you with your quarry mud heaven hunting!!

Is that Buttermilk Falls labeled on the map in upstate New York? If so, I've been there, and have actually hiked along the river above the falls, apparently right along the quarry's property line. I never knew it was there.

You look like you're in at least 10% country there, there certainly look to be settling ponds there. What State is this in?

Re: quarry help?
Just a quick request - I've been "dying" to shoot in a quarry, so if anyone is willing to share their location (I won't reveal it to the world!) in the NE US (e.g. Maryland up through PA, north to Maine and even Quebec), plus in Florida (I'm likely to be there in August 2013!!), please contact me directly.
Much appreciated.

Mike,
You should contact the people at archenemys. They used to do amazing quarry videos where the models were always in up to their waist and so stuck it was ridiculous. As a NJ guy, I can also say there are quite a few quarries around here but don't know what the substance is like. Never had the chance to venture but love to with the right people, and a few models/female sinkers would not hurt either.
