Social Media and Quicksand - FB, Pintrest, etc.

I had a Facebook account for awhile but unfortunately there is something just plain awkward about being a fetish producer on Facebook. I closed the Nessie account some time ago. I have no plans to re-open it.

I don't know about Twitter or Pinterest, but if you can have multiple accounts and openly be fetish on one account and family on the other without risking a breach of privacy, then I see nothing wrong with giving it a shot. It all depends on whether or not you would want to interact with people who do not share your fetish but found your stuff.

At this time, I prefer to keep only this board for my quicksand interest, because I know for a fact that I'm amongst friends who think like I do. We're all aliases and yet we know who we are.

I never used any of the mentioned social networks. I do use LinkedIn in my professional sphere. Also I use one of the two main Russian social networks - it helped me to get in touch with some of my schoolmates who live overseas for 20-30 years already and with some of my lost relatives. I have an account in another Russian social network, too, but I don't use it because now it demands my real cell phone number for authentication. Russian FSB wants too much Of course, none of the mentioned accounts could be used for any private interests/activities, including QS.

DeviantART is also a sort of social network, specialized in sharing artworks. It has many features of social networks - "friends", groups, journals, forums, "likes" (favorites), etc. I use it for QS and other similar interests, and many other people do so.

Keeping separate accounts in one social network is totally possible but difficult. You have to always remember where you are, which role you are currently playing, and use adequate technical measures (different browsers, TOR, etc.)
