I noticed that in the previous version, if someone used the "img" tag to display/embed an image that was too large for the window being displayed, it would be cut off, and expanding the window would then expose the hidden part, as long as it wasn't larger than the screen. Now, with this new version, the embedded "img" images are scaled properly, so that you can get the full image, no matter how small the window. :) One example of such a page with large "img" hotlinked/embedded images is http://www.quicksandfans.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=8874&start=14

However, I noticed that there is now a maximum displayable window width for the forum pages, and if you try and expand the window wider, it just stays the same width, centered, with blank sides. So, if the original size of the hotlinked/embedded "img" image is beyond the maximum displayable width for the posting area (as in the link above), then you can only view the scaled down size on the forum page, unless you view the image separately (for example using "View Image" in the popup menu in Firefox).

Another new thing I noticed is that when the width of the window is reduced below a certain point, the member info suddenly moves from the left side of their posting to the top of their posting, which likely helps with the viewability for those using mobile devices. 8-)

Thank you for the additional feedback. :)

Regarding the window size, it seems like this is the issue that Kookus mentioned earlier.

There is an option at the bottom of that page for using maximum available width.

Thanks! I did read that before, but didn't try it out because I forgot about it. :)

I noticed another interesting feature. When I am typing/editing a post, when I reach the bottom of the body text entry box/field, it automatically resizes to accommodate more of the text. 8-)

Folks may have noticed that 'Unread Posts in This Forum' text color thing is now back to the way we were enjoying it.

Thank you Kookus. :)

I don't think the text color thing is working quite right. If I have a thread highlighted and click on the hyperlink to mark everything as read, the highlighting remains on the thread title itself. I suppose its possible the re-load is coming from a cache.

I just noticed it after your mention Dave. I had just gotten used to looking for the subtle change I don't look at the text lol. Thank you Kookus :D

I think that IS, more or less, what is happening. After the grey out screen is restored to normal after clicking to mark a post as read the post title is still highlighted. However, if the display is refreshed the highlight goes away as it should. Close enough.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. I think you hit the nail on the head: it's loading a cached version. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about that. The cache is one of the many things that was overhauled in the new version of phpBB.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

I'm pretty good at hitting the nail like that. Trouble is its usually my thumb nail.

A simple press of the F5 key on a windows machine will fix that right up by forcing a reload
