Alligator

Incidents like this is why I built my own pit. I got really tired of wading through copperheads, water moccasins, snakes in general, pissed-off hunters that you actually stumble into in a fucking tree stand (yep...really happened...and I was glad I was in normal hiking gear and not doing a gender-bender), and now, here in north Alabama, we are seeing more and more alligators. I've known they were here, but only in certain, expected areas; now they are turning up in all the creeks and lowland areas.

All of a sudden I have a much better appreciation for my sinking sites... no alligators ... just an occasional frog or toad.
