What's your favorite "quicksand" substance thing?
For mudding/sinking/insert other word here, which muddy thing do you prefer? Peat? Sand? Silt? Clay? Other? This is the place to discuss it.
I’m not the person I was in 2016.

Definitely peat . . . nice and thick, just like my avatar. That's not to say I don't enjoy the other substances ( I do ! ) it's just thst thick, brown peat is my favourite.

Both are also definitive favorites for sinking. That bottomless thick peaty mud i sink into so often was good for quite a number of challenging situations!
Is clay = tidal mudflats? Thats my second favorite. Even more sticky and great for helplessly thrashing around...
Dammit, hopefully it will get a bit warmer in the next weeks. Right now the russion anticyclone is winning against the british cyclone and its around 0°C
Yes, by clay I mean tidal mudflats.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Its all a matter of a opinion and personal taste. I do love the Hollywood type as well. But nothing beats really thick, dense peat. Some of the Tropical media stuff has been looking amazing lately. Cause its so thick. And Studio588 has some of the best Peat as well. Sometimes it even looks like chocolate cake! It looks very menacing and dangerous and I just don't get that vibe from Clay as much. To each their own, and i enjoy clay scenes, but Peat is where its at for me.

I voted "Sand" with the caveat that I mean the kind displayed in the latest Jim Weathers videos.

Thick natural clay or tidal mud is my personal favorite. The scenes released over time in different clay pits by different producers always produced the best realistic struggling for my taste.

Tidal mud can be clay, sticky & holding-can also be deep ooze & both are enjoyable but the clay in silt ponds, as in the photo,is what I had in mind One can often find every sort of "sink" from very sticky to deep & soft on one site plus there is usually water to wash off. I admit there are also security problems in working pits. Can't have everything I suppose

I voted Other for now as I never got to experience sinking in quicksand yet but I plan on doing so by next year.
