Quicksand Fans

There was a discussion recently in MudBunny's Studio 588 Vlog thread about cosplaying in quicksand.
So, I'm gonna go and make this inspirational thread and see where it goes.
There have been a few mentions about cosplay in the past, and there are videos here and there which featured certain costumes such as Jim Weathers' Supergirl in Quicksand and QuicksandGirl's Raven(Alice) in Wonderland. I really enjoy cosplay and I'm also a cosplayer myself at anime cons. I think the possibility of seeing one of a favorite anime, comic, or video game character in quicksand would be something really awesome to see! So are there any characters you would love to see cosplayed in quicksand? Perhaps one that doesn't require a lot to make or purchase?

Off the top of my head, some cosplays I wouldn't mind seeing are Tifa Lockhart, Bunnygirl Mikuru Asahina, Kasumi from Dead or Alive.

I also have a fascination for cosplay ... I'm a fan of superheroes and my greatest pleasure is to see superheroines in quicksand. Cosplay has evolved greatly that now is a great attraction for comic conventions, Many fans especially young girls have made sensational costumes with little money and a lot of creativity.

My taste for leotard and tights in young girls led me to desire to see a cosplay of Princess Allura (Voltron cartoon) in her battle uniform sinking in quicksand. I share two images of this cosplay:

Also a cosplayer here (I actually happen to be somewhat known in the community). I wouldn't mind seeing some, but personally I wouldn't want it to be anything too complex or skin-covering. Like you said, Tifa would be a pretty sweet get.

My only fear of seeing cosplay in videos like these is that if it's too low quality (I just picture a super shitty wig), it'd serve as a distraction more than anything. Or like if the actress used a reference to the source material in some way and either screw it up or the reference was wrong or something (a broad example would be talking about lightsabers or The Force while wearing a Star Trek uniform or whatever), I think that would really pull me out of it as well.

Simple female cosplays? hmm, rules out all of my favorite video game and Anime characters!

I think you've hit upon a big reason why producers would be reluctant to try something like this. Really need someone who knows what they are doing in order to get it right. It would need to be either one of the performers or someone in the community like yourself. Laura Croft certainly comes to mind but can you name a particular character that might hit the compromise between skin, costume, ease of setup, credibility, sinkability, etc?

That's true.That also goes along the lines of being out of character; like this character wouldn't say or do such and such. It can come off as rather odd. Other than that, I do agree that the cosplay should at least be pretty decent and look convincing as possible. I also would prefer the cosplay sinking at a nice slow pace. Then again, I prefer that in any quicksand video, haha.

That would be the department where Mud Bunny could come in as it seems like she also knows about the culture and the kind of fandoms out there =)
Which I thought maybe we could throw some ideas out to her since she has interest to do it, and possibly help pitch in and donate for it like the one who sent her a zentai suit!

The aforementioned Lara Croft (who would actually have a reason to be in a jungle, haha) and Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII, Misty from Pokémon, Yoko from Gurren Lagann, Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop, and a lot of girls from One Piece (some of 'em are just bikinis). Those are most of what I'd consider pretty mainstream. If one were to go deeper, you'd have your Motoko Kusanagi, your Sonico, pretty much any girl from Ikki Tousen, High School of the Dead, and myriad others.

That's another thing I was, ehhhh, let's say reluctant to state in my first post; that only a VERY small handful of the models I've seen (like 2-4) are, in my own personal opinion, really the "cosplaying" type, or that could pull it off at all.

O awesome! I like both those ideas . I would also agree with ace. Dont you guys worry tough, there wont be any cosplay sinking unless we can do it right
