Someone most of us are pretty familiar with lent his voice to the story as well, and it doesn't come across as particularly mocking. Actually, it sounds like a logical extension of other, more well-known fetishes like bondage.

That was an interesting read. It was nice to see a balanced professional opinion of the festish side of our QS interest. Makes me wonder if QS writers will ever get a spotlight.

It was kind of funny to keep scrolling down into more large quicksandy artworks by A-020. I can't see that art as anything but brilliant, but I can imagine other people thinking "what... the..."

It's very good art though, and they couldn't have picked better art to illustrate what the fetish is about!

Going purely by deviantArt numbers, I think quicksand really is a micro-sized community, compared to other fetishes. Inflation fetish is probably 10x more popular than quicksand. I Googled "why is inflation fetish popular", and the posters were discussing the same type of "I felt funny when I saw inflation in cartoons and on TV".. basically they say that fetish kinda spawned from childhood exposure to that kind of media, in many cases. So that does seem to be a very common thread through all these weird fetishes... (and yeah, I have to admit, quicksand is pretty odd.. but I'm glad the community is here!)

Hahaaa, I was kind of hesitant on doing the interview at first, but thought it would be fun to do anyway. I didn't want to overthink my answers, so I kinda kept them short and to the point. I thought it would've been nice if he gotten other artist's views; especially LoM, but I guess I was the only one.

Thanks! You're actually not too far off. I went to the MOTHERBOARD's facebook page and found some people's reactions. Some found it fascinating, but darn, while 12 people shared the article so far, only 2 made it public. I wanted to read more, haha. Apparently, one of the people who shared the link knows an aquaintance of mine. So there's a possibility that some of my friends have seen the article through mutual friends xD ..There are a few reactions on twitter as well.

This is one of the first articles I've read about the fetish that didn't make fun of it outright. I like that. :)

I have been a fan of A-020's work on Deviant Art.

Also I remember the Princess Peach quicksand art that I saw from Shax almost 10 years ago and I still have a copy of it on my hard drive after all these years.

Reminds me of my own passion to write stories based on viewing fan art of video game girls in quicksand.

Anyway, I hope these links I found on google images help you know of the pic I am talking about.
