Quicksand Fans

My favorite mud to play in has always been clay. Sand is usually scratchy, and gets in places where it isn't welcome. Peat is (imho) stinky, and reminds me a bit too much of cow manure. Thick clay makes the best noises (sucking, pops, etc.) and is usually the most fun, bondage-wise. About the only drawback to clay is that it's hard to find a good patch that is also deep and in a handy location.

The most fun I've ever had with clay was when a thicker layer was overlaying softer mud below. That's when you can have all the fun that thick clay has to offer, without near the wear and tear to get out. (Ok, the people who like the bondage aspect best will likely want stuff that is thick all the way down, but a thick layer on top is easier to get into and more fun to move around in, you just don't get quite the "trapped" feel that the thick stuff has)

What I'm really here to type about (wake up, I'm finally getting to the point!) is I would bet a thick layer of oobleck (or mpvbleck) on top of a thinner layer would likely have the same effect as thick/thin clay, in that it would make it easier to get into while appearing to be really thick and sticky stuff. The downside being that you have to make it in two batches, with different mix ratios, but the upside is the lower layer wouldn't need to use as much of the non-water ingredients, so it might be a bit cheaper way to set up a pit. Another upside is that (if my guess is right) this could look a lot like what we've been seeing, while being a bit cheaper and easier on the models.

Just a thought.

I have fantasized of an ooblek-like pit, but with the appearance of salt mudflats or soft sticky clay. Whereas I f someone stepped in it, any matter of their body that touches it will not get loose, with that, you can't see areas where they got dirty from it, because that area would be under, and there would be no up, because what ever goes down, stays down, I might want to write a story related to this, I have ideas.

I hope to build my own pit one day, with clay as you are describing, but with water jets like a hot tub, (but at least 8 ft deep) keeping it wet, that would be hard, since clay is so dense, it would compress itself hard again with that depth.

Or, where I have layers of the pit, first being deep water or very thin deep mud, then a few feet of pulverized styrofoam or some other bouyant substance, then a layer of any kind of mud ontop of the styrofoam, maybe the mud could be thick without hardening again. When a person stepped in it, the pressure would be put on the styrofoam, pushing it into the water then it would move out of the way of the victim, causing them to sink deeper, repeating until they go under and are in the water. Sounds dangerous or stupid though, and no buoyancy aid can keep them from going under, but maybe they could hang onto a pole that is longer than the width of the pit, until they get tired. I would want to try sinking in a pit like this definitely, the fetish here isn't really the pressure of the mud, but the feeling of danger.

I also thought about expensive ideas, like using silly putty, as a thick substance, for a very slow and sticky sink.

These ideas may sound bad but their the kind I'd like to try.

Oobleck is really fun, but you have to have a specific ratio of cornstarch for it to work. From the little bit I've played with though, I wish I had at least a full tub of it to work with.

Oobleck seems like it would actually be pretty good to sink in. The episode that Mythbusters has of them dispelling myths of "killer quicksand" has one of them sinking into, like, a tub of oobleck as a demonstration. It looks pretty good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wiYtoG9kZE
