Back before we entered this golden age of quicksand scenes - mostly due to the efforts of our producers and performers and a few lucky chaps who could talk their girlfriends into jumping into the muck - we of the older generation had to make due with whatever Hollywood and TV threw our way... and made due with it quite happily, as then there were few alternatives then.
One thing I did notice is on those rare occasions a lady did enter the bog, she was inevitably rescued or got herself out, but so few actually went all the way under... which irked me somewhat as I always felt that was the gold standard of a scene, male or female. I never took an inventory, but I swear guys went under far more often than the ladies, which I found rather unfair... but be that as it may...
So, just for the hell of it, I thought it'll be fun to try and list those rarest of the rare times a lady victim vanished beneath the sand/mire. I hope others will add to the list as we go. Again, this is mainstream submergence scenes from film or TV...
The Moonstone - 1994(?) among one of the best submergences I've seen
The Dawns Here Are Quiet - another great one
When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth - cool idea of cave girl going under, but except for brief flailing scene, goes by too quick to savor. Worth rewinding and doing frame by frame.
Hound of the Baskervilles (1959) - very quick, but still awesome. Cuts away, alas, before she disappears...
Massacre in Dinosaur Valley - pretty cool one, plus the idea of her husband/lover saving his own ass and leaving her to sink is amusing, as neither were nice people.
The Mongols - love the dramatics and how the actress played this one out. Watery qs, but the payoff is worth it, I think.
Sheena (TV series) - rescuing three models from quicksand AFTER the three vanish from sight never gets old...
Death Curse of Tartu - highlights include the waving hand after the heroine goes under, and one of the funniest (read: bad) fight scene ever recorded. Entertaining to watch.
Blood Beach - even though it is a monster dragging folks down, it serves as one of the better dry sand submergences around.
Anyone else? I know I've missed a few.

I'd also say the Nightmare on Elm Street 4 scene, though she technically gets shoved under, haha.

Dang! I knew I missed a couple of fun ones. Never heard of that zombie movie scene, though. Sounds cool.
I also forgot the 1990s TV Tarzan scene when Jane goes under and Tarzan jumps in to fish her out.

I vaguely remember catching part of some movie years ago, which I don't know the name of, where a woman (I believe british) who was truly evil, was being chased. She then runs into a peat bog, and she stands still, slowly sinking, yelling "No! No! No!", with more of the misty peat bog visible in the background. When her pursuers catch up to her, all they see is a pool of peaty water in the peat bog, with some very tiny bubbles coming up, and one of them makes a comment, something like "What a horrible way to die". I have never came across that scene since, and have no idea what movie it was.
I sink, therefore I WAM!!!!

The Night Has Eyes - Old British flick with James Mason. Villainous older couple meets their deserved fate together with an implied submersion. It's actually pretty good with the horror.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

I am pretty certain there are still copies of Crypto's List around and that should have just about everything up to the date of the last edition of the list. It had descriptions of what was in each scene and was accurate for the most part. So, I would suggest that what this thread needs is really just new listings, which would likely be from about 2004 onward, or corrections.
Studio 588 currently offers more than 2200 different HD and QD quicksand videos and has supported production of well over 2400 video scenes and other projects by 20 different producers. Info may be found at:

And I already posted a couple of corrections recently in this thread.

According to a quick google search I did just now, The Moonstone is from 1996.
I’m not the person I was in 2016.

The Western film "Shoot the Living, Prey for the Dead" also had a submergence.
