Quicksand Fans

Hi Folks,

Sometime during the next few days, Kookus will be upgrading the phpBB software that QSFans runs on.

This is a major upgrade that will entail some downtime. In the case that we are unable to make a timely announcement, any unavailability experienced between now and the weekend is like due to the upgrade.

I will update this topic as events warrant.

Was chat removed?

All done. There are still a few outstanding issues given what had to be taken out to accommodate the new version, but with the exception of the chat system, everything should be working. Regarding the board width, that's now a setting in the User Control Panel (UCP -> Board Preferences -> Edit display options). Will be working on putting on the polish over the next few days.

Added a shoutbox to the bottom of the main index. It's not exactly the same as the old chat system, but give it a spin and see if it will pass muster.

Took me minute to find the User Control Panel - it's now accessible through a pull down under the user name at the top right.

Quite a few tweaks built into this upgrade, but it was mandatory for the purposes of security upgrades etc.

Alright, glad I could get the old board width back. Much better looking IMO.

EDIT: Ooh, I do like the new look for the online notification though.

I thought things looked a bit different this morning...
