What is this paraphilia called exactly?
There's Aquaphilia (basically WAM), Asphyxiophilia (breath play, choked, strangled), Podophilia (feet), etc., so what's the technical term for the quicksand/mud fetish? Does one even exist?

'Terra' just means land or ground in general I think. Probably 'syrtis' is closer to the Latin root word you're looking for.

I think the only practical reason for having a Latin name for a philia, or a phobia, is so that people, usually medical practitioners or researchers, can ground their work with past work by reference and be consistent as to how things are understood. For example, if there is some newly-published work on, say, triskadekaphobia (fear of 13) it can use the original (or subsequently modified) definition of that by referencing the original published work. Without that the new piece must either re-describe everything or risk using "orange" when "apple" is meant, and invite confusion. If no mention of a phenomenon exists in a scientific or medical paper then there is not really any reason for a Latin name. Therefore, we could use English (or any other language) terms such as quicksand fetish, quicksand interest, quicksand kink, or something else. There will still be confusion about what anyone using the terms means, of course, but unless we are discussing the issue from a scientific or medical point of view, the consequence of confusion is probably trivial.
Studio 588 currently offers more than 2200 different HD and QD quicksand videos and has supported production of well over 2400 video scenes and other projects by 20 different producers. Info may be found at:

Probably very 'correct'.
But it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.
