I confessed to my wife my love of ladies' boots, and though her acceptance was somewhat gradual at first, now she hardly bats an eye (well, every once in a while she laughs a bit, but I mostly ignore that) when I walk into the room in boots. Now I just have to work myself up for part 2, which is the mud/quicksand part. I hope I get at least acceptance of my participation from her, she's not in any condition to join in herself due to disabilities. But that much will be a big help to my peace of mind, and my frequency of participation as well. You are a very fortunate man.

I just told my girlfriend a couple of months ago. Her response was also very positive, much to my surprise. She hints at joining me now and then. When I say I don't believe her, she said "you won't believe me until you see me up to my chest in mud". She said it sounds amazing. It has inspired some food fun, and it's made our relationship stronger than ever. I know that once the snow melts, and the mud pit is warm, she's going to join me, and make a huge dream come true.

Congrats on getting the courage to talk to her about it! It makes it easier if you already have an honest, open approach to sexuality and let him/her lead the discussion after you quickly state your interest in it.

When you marry, you marry your best friend. Secrets tend to cause stress and lead to bigger issues like mistrust and infidelity. I know several people who hide fetishes from their significant other, and it invariably leads to boredom, a feeling of repression, and a need to act out, almost always by cheating with someone who "gets it". The women in all three of my longest relationships all were told sometime in the 3-6 month area. In each case each looked at me with a raised eyebrow, but each time they embraced it. My girlfriend is very accepting. She's a clever and open lass so it's all good. But I can't get the courage to tell her that I like quicksand... even though I'm not sure I really do anymore. I did when I was in my teens but now I can take it or leave it.
It wouldn't be a negative reaction. We had been together for years before I confessed to another fetish. She was really good with it and turned out she liked it in return.
