Do I ever!

http://web.archive.org/web/199812030813 ... /msychris/

Or just go to web.archve.org and type www.wamsat.com/msychris/ into the Wayback Machine.

Ah, the good old days- waiting what seemed like forever for just one still image do download on a 28.8 modem.

If you doubt my veracity, note the eight-letter user name in the above address- that's a holdover from DOS days and earlier.

Wow! I forgot all about this site! I think this was probably the second or third site I ever found in my early days of searching for mud and quicksand on the 'net! Back then not only was I on a modem, but I had a very slow PPP connection to a Unix server at a college that kicked everyone off after 10 minutes! Always seemed to do it right in the middle of a good picture too!

Hmmm. A bit rhetorical there, but I will bite. No, I cannot tell you that Messy Chris videos are still for sale. (My gosh, this really DOES go back a ways). I think I used to sell them though.

We're talking VHS tape of course. And it would probably take some grunting and groaning for even me to put my hands on one. I doubt that they will ever be for sale again, unless the creator changes his plans.

In any case, how many folks here recall that the guy behind the camera also provided our 'home' for a while, back in the Mailing Lists days? He and Chris were dealing with serious family issues when he stopped participating. I think their privacy should continue to be honored accordingly. But, for what it's worth, I think that we all are indebted to his pioneering and unselfish efforts.

Someone needs to assemble a complete internet timeline for the community some day (yes, I know that there was a mud scene earlier), starting with A.S.F.WAM. Call me nostalgic, but as it is, QSF will be celebrating its seventh birthday shortly. ;)

Thanks for helping to shake out some cobwebs from my brain! Wow, I had forgotten about this site. Too bad that most of the photos are lost, even to the Web Archive!
