Quicksand Fans Discord Group?

I'd be totally up for creating a discord group for the members of this forum/anyone with a quicksand fetish in particular. You guys are all so cool and I'd like to chat with you more, but the moderator lag (and the fact that I'm kinda shy) makes that pretty tough. The only reason I suggest discord is because it's a good platform for groups of any size, with multiple text channels for different topics (hell we could even have an RP channel if we wanted.) I don't know if this is something y'all would be interested in, but if a few of you are, I'd be happy to make the server.

I took a quick look at Discord Servers and ... ouch ... my eyes ... my brain ... they all hurt.

This must be a generational thing.

I am a 51 year old white man. Many here are in my demographic. Perhaps the younger folks here can deal with all the "noise" of the aforementioned site. I cannot.

Good luck.

Discord is actually a relatively newer platform even for my generation. I don't particularly know what that page is you linked, but I'm assuming that's just a big list of public servers which are built to hold like 3x as many people as the private ones are. I promise it's not as headache inducing as it sounds, but if you'd rather not, I will respect that. Thanks! :D

Wow...Yeah go ahead and put me in the same demographic. That's way too busy for me. You're welcome to take a shot at it but this is home for most of us. Also keep in mind the reason QSF came about was because this interest group was always living in borrowed spaces. WAMSAT, usenet, Yahoo, Deepsinking. We had no place that was entirely our own before QSF so it will likely remain home as long as we are around.

I'm down. I'm also quite shy though, but I think it's a good idea.

I use Discord quite often and have built out my domain on it as well. Its over-whelming at first, but its not bad. And it is definitely the way of the future and free. I'd be more then happy to be a admin as well. Build out some voice channels for Role Playing sessions if people desired. I'm in!

If it's something you want to do then there's not much to be gained by asking around here. Go do it. I'm sure there's a lot about it that I'm not aware of and I expect that applies across my age group. It's probably a lot more mobile device friendly. Could be that we are missing something here. Over the decades there have been other web sites for this fetish too numerous to count. The vast majority of users show up to get something for free and if you can provide something that others don't then it might stick. Right now there are three surviving community pages that I can think of - Quicksandfans.com - Quicksandland.com - and Deepsinking.org. DS does not permit anything remotely adult while QSF and QSL are more producer-centric. I'd suggest you find a niche within our niche that these sites do not fill and pursue it. Otherwise it's just another duplication of effort that will go the way of all the others.

I think she was asking to gauge what the interest is of starting a new domain that would be specifically quicksand. Discord is a bit different, its a real time chat client. Not a forum. It would be cool since our chat client for this forum went down, and doesn't look like it'll return. So this is a good substitute for the time being. And the best thing about Discord is that its free and constantly updated.
